North Korean had successfully carried on a third underground nuclear test.
State-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said the test was conducted in a safe manner and is aimed at coping with “outrageous” US hostility that “violently” undermines the North’s peaceful, sovereign rights to launch satellites.
“The high-level nuclear test, unlike in the past, had more explosive power and involved a miniaturised and lighter atomic bomb and was staged safely and perfectly,” KCNA said.
After confirmation, world leaders responded with condemnation. United Nations Secretary General says North Korean nuclear weapon test is a grave violation of Security Council resolutions. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said his government would “consider every possible way to address this issue”.
Previously, North Korea conducted nuclear test twice times in 2006 and 2009. And this third test is the response to UN Sanction regarding North Korea’s rocket launch in December 2012.
